Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and how your photos are handled.
This privacy policy applies to Put It Together JM (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a registered business in Jamaica. For privacy questions or requests, please use our Contact page.
Effective date: July 23, 2026 (updated to add the “Bank-transfer payment proofs” section; previously effective July 9, 2026).
What we collect
We collect the information needed to run a small personalized photo-product store: your name, email address, phone number, delivery or pickup details, a billing address (only if we ask for one at checkout and you provide it), account login details, order history, payment status, support messages, reviews, and the photos or text you upload into a design.
Photos may contain personal information about you or other people. Before uploading someone else's photo, name, message, date, or other personal detail, make sure you have permission to use it for the product you are ordering.
How we use your information
We use your information to create your design, prepare and print your order, contact you about payment or delivery, provide support, prevent misuse, and keep accurate order records. We do not sell your personal information or use your uploaded photos for advertising.
We may use order and site activity in an internal, practical way to improve the store, such as checking which products are ordered most often or finding checkout issues. This is for operating the business, not for selling customer data.
Customer reviews
If you review a product or bundle, we collect the review details you submit, including your rating, title, written review, review photos, photo captions, optional private delivery or pickup feedback, review status, and review history. We also keep order, product, bundle, size, variant, and display-name snapshots so the review remains accurate even if the product or account changes later.
Published reviews may be visible to other visitors on product or bundle pages. Public review content may include your rating, review title and body, review date, product or variant details, your customer display name, review photos you allowed for website display, and any response from Put It Together JM. We do not publish your email address, phone number, full order number, payment details, private delivery or pickup feedback, or private order/design files as part of a public review.
Private delivery or pickup feedback is visible to you and to Put It Together JM for service review. It is not included in public review listings, rating summaries, or search-engine structured data.
Published review summaries, such as average rating and review count, may be included in structured data for search engines when the same information is visible on the page. Search engines and other third parties may cache public pages after they are published.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect customer accounts, orders, uploaded photos, and business records. Access to customer photos and order information is limited to people who need it to process, print, support, or fulfill an order.
Photos and designs
Your uploaded photos are used only to make, support, and, when needed, reprint your order. People working on your order may need to view the design or photo so the product can be printed correctly. We do not post your photos publicly or use them in marketing unless you separately give us permission.
Some image files may include metadata, such as file name, camera information, or location data added by your device. We do not use photo metadata for advertising. If you do not want metadata in an image, remove it before uploading.
Review photos are handled separately from private order, builder, or design photos. A review photo is only accepted when you deliberately upload it as a review photo and confirm website display permission. We process review photos by decoding and re-encoding them into a new image file, which removes embedded metadata such as EXIF and GPS data. Permission to show a review photo on the website is separate from optional permission to use that photo in social media or other marketing.
How long we keep photos
We keep full-resolution photos for a custom order for 90 days after the order is delivered or cancelled. This gives us time to resolve print issues or support a reprint. After that, the photos are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Your order record is kept as your receipt and for normal business records. Once the photos for an order are deleted, that order may still appear in your account, but it can no longer be reprinted from the original image unless you upload the photo again.
Saved projects you haven't ordered
A project you save but do not order stays in your account while you're working on it. If you don't open or order a saved project for about 180 days, we may remove it — the project and its photos — to free up storage. This keeps your unfinished projects available for a long time while letting us clean up ones that appear abandoned. Placing an order, or simply opening the project, keeps it active.
Please don't treat saved projects as permanent photo storage — always keep your own copy of any photo you upload. Deleting a saved project, or its removal after inactivity, does not affect any order you've already placed: orders keep their own separate copy of the photos.
Payments
At this time, orders are paid by bank transfer. We do not collect or store card numbers through the website. We store payment status, payment references, and order totals so we can confirm and fulfill your order.
Bank-transfer payment proofs
After making a bank transfer you may optionally upload a receipt (a screenshot or photo of your transfer confirmation) from the order page in your account, or reply to your invoice email with it. A receipt image can contain personal and financial information — your name, bank, reference numbers, and, if you don't crop it, account balances or unrelated transactions. Please upload only the transfer confirmation and crop out everything else.
We collect receipts for one purpose: to verify or resolve the bank-transfer payment for that specific order. Uploading a receipt does not confirm payment — your order is marked paid only after we verify the transfer in our bank account. A receipt uploaded from your order page is stored privately, is never published or used for marketing, and is accessible only to you (for your own order) and to authorized Put It Together JM personnel responsible for payment verification; each time a stored receipt is viewed or downloaded, that access is recorded. We may disclose a receipt where the law requires it — for example to our accountant, a regulator, or in a payment dispute.
The two ways of sending proof are handled differently. A receipt you upload from your order page is stored privately on our own server and is covered by the access, retention, hold, and deletion terms in this section. A receipt you send by replying to the invoice email travels through and is also kept in our email mailbox, which is provided by Google (Gmail) — so that copy is held by Google on our behalf and follows our mailbox practices rather than the storage controls in this section; we record a structured note of the emailed proof against your order, and we aim to delete the email copy once the payment is resolved. Sending the email alone does not update your order automatically — your order shows the proof as under review once we record the emailed receipt against it, which we do when we process it. If you prefer your receipt to stay only within our own systems, use the upload option.
A receipt image uploaded from your order page is kept as supporting payment documentation for up to six years from the payment decision, in line with business-record keeping obligations, unless a dispute, refund investigation, regulatory request, or legal matter requires keeping it longer. We may delete the image earlier once it is no longer required. Deleting the image never changes your order, invoice, payment record, or the decision that was made — those structured records are retained as normal business records, and a deleted image is not restored from backups. (Email copies follow the separate mailbox handling above.)
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete a receipt you uploaded via our Contact page; we will honour requests subject to the accounting, dispute, regulatory, and legal obligations above. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your personal information, you may complain to Jamaica's Office of the Information Commissioner.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your session, protect your account, and keep the store working. To understand basic public-site usage we use Google Analytics, which loads only on public discovery pages (home, product and bundle pages, design galleries, and information/legal pages). It is not loaded on admin pages, account pages, cart, checkout, order pages, or the builder. We do not place analytics behind a cookie-consent banner — instead it simply does not run outside those public pages. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may sign you out or clear parts of your session.
Third-party services
We use service providers only where needed to operate the store, such as website hosting, file storage, email delivery, security, delivery or pickup support, and Google Analytics for public-page usage measurement (see Cookies above). Some providers may process or store information outside Jamaica. We only share the information needed for the relevant service.
When we may disclose information
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the security of the website, to prevent fraud or misuse, to respond to a legal request, or to protect the safety or rights of a customer, photo subject, our business, or the public.
Children
The website is not directed to children. Customers should only place orders if they are legally and practically able to provide the required information and make payment, or if they have permission from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Your choices
You can update your account details, delete saved addresses, delete saved designs, deactivate your account, request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or contact us to request deletion of account data and uploaded photos. Some order records may need to be kept for receipts, accounting, dispute handling, or legal reasons, but personal account details can be removed or anonymized where appropriate.
If your account is anonymized, a published review may remain visible as coming from a verified customer unless the review is removed. You may request removal of your own review. Removed reviews no longer appear publicly or count toward public rating summaries, but moderation, audit, and business records may be retained where needed for security, abuse prevention, dispute handling, or legal reasons.
